The Benefits of Teaching Phonics

In simple terms, phonics allows children to break down words into smaller parts. It also helps them see the relationship between graphemes (written letters) and phonemes (smallest unit of sound).

Phonics instruction is critical in helping your child comprehend, understand language, spell, become a great reader, and improve the child’s ability to decode words.

As I always say, you can’t skip the process. Phonics instruction is essential to developing excellent readers.
