Don't Delay Learning

The reading curriculum is changing every five years because “experts” still haven’t figured it out. Now, they are talking about following the “science of reading,” and reading hasn’t changed.

On Friday, I sat in a pre-k class with students who didn’t know their letters, sounds, or how to write their names. When they enter K in the fall, they will be expected to know how to find the character in a story, answer questions, and blend sounds to make a word.

Don’t allow your child to fall through the cracks. A late birthday doesn’t mean delayed instruction. Children can still learn and play. The goal is to have a well-rounded life. Play + learn. 💜
